Shauna S. Muhl is vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for Cox Enterprises, a leading communications, media and automotive services company.
She is responsible for oversight of corporate legal matters, including transactions, regulatory compliance, litigation management and corporate governance for Cox Enterprises. She supervises Cox Enterprises' legal department and manages the company's outside counsel relationships. She also coordinates legal strategy, administration and policies across Cox's subsidiaries.
Muhl joined Cox in 1994 as counsel as the company prepared to take its Cox Communications subsidiary public. In 2004, she was part of the senior legal team leading the $8.5 billion Cox Communications going-private transaction and served a similar role in the 2009 Cox Radio going-private transaction.
Prior to joining Cox, she was an associate with Willkie, Farr & Gallagher in New York, New York and Bond, Schoeneck & King in Syracuse, New York.
Muhl previously served as a trustee for The Atlanta Academy, a private K-8 elementary school, and for The Spruill Center for the Arts, a nonprofit arts center.
She is a magna cum laude graduate of Cornell University and earned a master's degree from the University of California, where she was a Regents Fellow. Muhl received her juris doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she was an editor of the Law Review.
