About Arizona Sustainability Alliance

Phoenix, Arizona

The Arizona Sustainability Alliance (AZSA) is a nonprofit action and advocacy alliance that aims to create and support cutting-edge, project-based sustainability solutions in Arizona through civic engagement, collaboration and education. They empower Arizona citizens to work together toward more verdant, equitable and sustainable communities.

AZSA recently celebrated its 5th anniversary as a 501(c)(3) non-profit action and advocacy alliance in Arizona. The group has six full-time staff members as well as hundreds of volunteers and partners working to complete a variety of environmental projects.

For example, in February 2022, more than 125 volunteers planted 100 trees, shrubs, and other pollinator plants at Emerson Elementary School as part of the school’s centennial celebration. The group also conducts park cleanups and trail maintenance work throughout North Mountain Park, the most trafficked park in the Phoenix metropolitan area. AZSA also manages the “Arizona Clean Energy Workforce Development Program” to provide essential job skills training to students from disadvantaged communities and contributes to the global clean energy revolution.
