
I-9 Completion
All Cox employees, regardless of citizenship or immigration status, must complete a Form I-9 to verify the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States.
Employees will be prompted to utilize the Form I-9 Authorized Representative process. This allows any adult to serve as a Cox “authorized representative” (formerly known as Find-a-Friend) by completing Section 2 of Form I-9 and physically verifying the employee’s documents. Additionally, “alternative procedure” allows documents to be inspected virtually by either a Cox employee or a self-designated authorized representative.
Section 1 of Form I-9 should be completed prior to the employee’s first day of employment with Cox. Section 2 of Form I-9 and submission to E-Verify must be completed within three business days of the date employment begins.
