Cox Enterprises Announces Expanded Leadership Role for Duane Ritter

Ritter to manage corporate services in addition to enterprise security

Cox Enterprises today announced an expanded leadership role for Duane Ritter, senior vice president of corporate services and enterprise security. In addition to his previous responsibilities, Ritter now oversees the operations and maintenance of Cox’s corporate facilities and their associated food service and fitness centers.

“Duane has worked closely with our corporate services team for many years to ensure a safe, secure working environment for our employees,” said Marybeth Leamer, executive vice president of human resources and administration. “This is a great opportunity to utilize Duane’s skillset and create further collaboration across our corporate services and security teams. He is a proven leader, and I’m thrilled to expand his responsibilities in this way.”

Ritter continues to manage the security function for Cox Enterprises headquarters and all its subsidiaries. He oversees physical security, investigations, business continuity, crisis management, data governance, identity theft and loss prevention. He works closely with the senior leadership at Cox companies to advise and recommend security policies and procedures.

Prior to Cox, Ritter served as vice president of international corporate security for the Western Union Company and corporate vice president for First Data Corporation. He also supervised the nuclear and corporate security operations of the Omaha and Nebraska Public Power districts and served as a criminal investigator with the Nebraska State Patrol.

He received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Under Ritter’s leadership, Cox Enterprises’ security department is consistently named a top performer by Security Magazine.
