Cox Enterprises Names Jennifer Prime as Regulatory Affairs Director


Cox Enterprises today named Jennifer Prime as regulatory affairs director, effective immediately. She will report to Barry Ohlson, vice president of regulatory affairs, in Cox’s Public Policy office in Washington, D.C.

“Jenny’s experience is an ideal fit for our office,” said Ohlson. “Cox is a leader in the media and telecommunications industries, and Jenny specializes in the complex policy issues that impact these areas of our business. I know she will be a tremendous asset to our team.”

Prime will assist in the development and implementation of the company’s public policy strategy and will work closely with Cox’s different divisions on relevant regulatory issues.


Prime comes to Cox after working at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for more than seven years.  She most recently served as assistant chief of the Competition Policy Division in the FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau. She worked on a number of telecommunications policies during her tenure in the Bureau, such as issues relating to competition, pricing and universal service.

Previously, Prime served as a staff attorney for the Institute for Public Representation where she represented media justice, public health and children’s advocacy organizations. She also worked with the Indiana Court of Appeals, was a teaching fellow at Georgetown University Law Center and was published in the Federal Communications Law Journal.

Prime earned a master’s of law degree in advocacy from Georgetown University Law Center, a juris doctor degree from Indiana University School of Law and a bachelor of arts degree from Centre College.
