From PBN: Cox's Pledge to Bridge Internet-Access Gap


At a Washington, D.C., press conference, Cox Communications President Pat Esser announced a $20 million annual commitment to bridging the internet-access gap through Connect2Compete, a program that provides low-cost home internet access to low-income families with K-12 students.

“With convenient, reliable internet access at home, students can readily focus on their school work, explore their passions and ultimately reach their full potential,” said Esser.

More than 400,000 people have been connected to the internet via Cox's Connect2Compete since the program started almost 20 years ago.
