Techstars ATL: Meet Bundl

You may be surprised to learn that two dads are behind a secondhand children’s clothing and accessories app that’s geared mostly toward moms, but Lance Stokes and Collin Sanders, co-founders of Bundl, are betting they have a digital solution that moms (and all parents, really) will flock to.

Bundl is one of 10 companies chosen to participate in the 2019 class of Techstars Atlanta, a startup accelerator sponsored by Cox Enterprises that helps grow businesses by connecting entrepreneurs with mentors and investors. The program culminates with a demo day Oct. 14. Cox employees in Atlanta can get a sneak preview of what the companies have to offer at Techstars@Cox Oct. 8.

“We are empowering moms to create their own small business around this emergence in resale,” said Lance. “Think of them as digital franchisees who use our platform as a tool to free up time and make extra income.”

Meeting Demand for Online Thrifting
Following in the footsteps of Craigslist and eBay  and newer clothing resale sites like ThredUp and Poshmark  Bundl is trying to tap into a $25 billion U.S. resale market that is projected to double in the next four years. The co-founders met because Collin went to high school with Lance’s wife. Both are serial entrepreneurs with roots in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and they’ve been supportive of each other’s endeavors for years, Collin said.

Their new company uses a closed network of sellers. All sellers  which could include consignment stores and retail boutiques as well as parents  are vetted through an interview process to ensure they will provide quality customer service.

Shoppers’ Delight
Bundl is one of several consumer-focused companies chosen for the 2019 Techstars Atlanta class. Another app, MaxReward (recently featured in an Atlanta Small Business Network article) helps you manage credit cards and maximize the reward points you’re earning. And Westock is a “crowdstocking” app that helps you discover new food and drink products and then request that they be stocked on shelves at a store near you.
