Since 2017, Sammie has been helping groups build Buddy Benches out of recycled plastic, inspiring people of all ages to make a difference in their communities and beyond. At its root, her mission is simple: spread kindness. Sammie calls it a “3 in 1” — helping the environment, bringing communities closer together and creating friendships.

Sammie has spread over 750 Buddy Benches around the world, all made from recycled plastic, helping recycle millions of pieces of plastic into benches built to withstand the test of time and create lasting places for friendship. At just 12, she published a book encouraging others to make a difference no matter their age.

Sammie has spent more than 9 years — over half her life — on the Buddy Bench Project, and she continues today, proving she’s not a one-shot wonder but a lasting example. Her work has inspired millions worldwide to spread kindness and recycle,  inspiring others to recycle, connect and make a difference in their communities.
