Jessica Shrum

Senior Vice President, Strategy

Jessica Shrum leads Cox Enterprises’ strategy and diversification and the future development of its portfolio of businesses.

She first joined Cox in 2006 at Cox Communications in the strategy and product organization before moving to Cox Automotive in 2016 as vice president of corporate strategy. There, she led strategy for the domestic portfolio — an $8 billion business spanning more than 35 companies — working with senior leadership to set direction, optimize growth and prioritize near- and long-term investments. She then moved into operations, leading the Cox Automotive Mobility business, where her team delivered profitable, scalable growth for fleet vehicle repair and maintenance services and helped define the trajectory for the electric vehicle battery future.

In 2024, Shrum returned to Cox Communications as executive vice president and chief strategy officer, reporting to the president and leading strategy across a $13 billion portfolio, including running adjacent growth businesses. Before joining Cox, Shrum served in product, marketing and corporate strategy roles at BellSouth/AT&T. She also advised numerous clients across multiple industries for Andersen Business Consulting.

Shrum has a bachelor’s degree in systems engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

An active volunteer in her community, Shrum served as the finance chair for a local nonprofit, Communities in Schools of Atlanta, which was founded by Anne Cox Chambers. She also holds several volunteer positions at her children’s school.
