Cox Conserves Heroes celebrates individuals and nonprofits taking bold action to cut carbon and energy use, conserve water, eliminate waste, protect and restore natural habitats and species. Now it’s your turn to help decide who rises to the top. 

The voting period for 2026 has ended.

Please check back on October 14th when we announce the winners in each category.

What’s at stake: 

  • $30,000 for the winner in each category, awarded by the James M. Cox Foundation to the environmental nonprofit of their choice 
  • $15,000 and $5,000 for the runners‑up 
  • Plus, Jim Kennedy, chairman emeritus of Cox Enterprises and chairman of the James M. Cox Foundation, will bestow the Jim Kennedy Conservation Award to the top nonprofit finalist
