APPROX. 60,000 EMPLOYEES, ONE GOAL: LEAVE THE WORLD BETTER THAN WE FOUND IT

Team Cox is our enterprisewide, employee-powered volunteer force. We are 55,000 strong with one goal: Leave the world better that we found it. Team Cox’s hard work highlights that doing the right thing for the environment and our community is at the very core of who we are.

When it comes to helping others, actions speak volumes. At Cox Enterprises, we live this value by donating time as well as money. We believe in rolling up our sleeves and getting to work in the communities we serve and call home. Every year, Team Cox volunteers rack up tens of thousands of volunteer hours.

OUR AREAS OF FOCUS

Our community giving and employee volunteer program focuses on three areas:

  • Preserving the environment
  • Empowering individuals, families and communities
  • Promoting diversity and inclusion

KaBOOM!

Cox Enterprises launched a partnership with KaBOOM! in 2015, resulting in nearly 300 employees working together to build playgrounds at Genesis Shelter and Legacy Housing’s Shamrock Gardens, providing a safe place for children to be active in downtown and southwest Atlanta.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity

More than 600 Cox volunteers representing all divisions built the company’s 22nd and 23rd homes with Atlanta’s Habitat for Humanity. They worked alongside Cox Media Group’s Clark Howard, who led the charge to build three additional homes in southwest Atlanta. Cox and The James M. Cox Foundation have given more than $2 million to the organization over the past 25 years.

Park Pride

Since 2009, Cox Enterprises has partnered with the Atlanta-based park advocate group, Park Pride. Employees have donated more than 1,500 volunteer hours to clean up public parks - including removing litter, clearing brush, mulching and planting. More than 100 volunteers partnered with Park Pride to clean up and landscape Perkerson Park, a 50-acre park in the Capitol View/Sylvan Hills neighborhoods of Atlanta, and Vine City Park located in downtown Atlanta. Cox also sponsors Park Pride’s Annual Parks & Greenspace Conference.

Special Olympics of Georgia

More than 200 Team Cox volunteers cheered on athletes and ran soccer drills at the Summer Games at Emory University, helping them to develop athletic skills and promoting the abilities of the athletes off the field.

National Environmental Partners

Team Cox volunteers show commitment to environmental stewardship by working with our national environmental partners, organizations also supported by Cox’s corporate giving program.

Since 2010, Team Cox volunteers have picked up more than 26 tons of debris from beaches and waterways. Over the past two years, over 500 employees have worked together to clean up rivers and oceans across the country.

American Rivers

American Rivers protects and restores the nation's rivers and the clean water that sustains people, wildlife and nature. Cox employees’ work with American Rivers has resulted in removing more than 16 tons of waste and debris from rivers and riverbanks in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Ocean Conservancy

Ocean Conservancy

For Team Cox volunteers, a day at the beach is about a lot more than sand and surf - it’s an opportunity to make a positive impact on our oceans. Our partnership and volunteer efforts with Ocean Conservancy help educate and empower citizens to act on behalf of the ocean. We’ve gathered at beaches in California, Florida, New York and Washington to help remove more than five tons of trash as part of these beach cleanups.
