Dallas Clement is president and chief operating officer of Cox Enterprises, a global, family-owned company with businesses and investments spanning automotive, greenhouse agriculture, cleantech, software, outdoor recreation, journalism and broadband. 

In this role, Clement guides the strategy and evolution of Cox and its portfolio of businesses. During his more than 35-year career at the company, he has held senior leadership roles across every major business. 

Clement drives innovation and disciplined growth, balancing opportunity and risk while building enduring businesses for generations to come. His team helps expand Cox’s portfolio into new industries, with a focus on emerging businesses that embrace new technologies and align with Cox’s values. Under Clement’s leadership, the company has expanded into cleantech, controlled environment agriculture, digital media and public sector technology, with acquisitions including Cox Farms, OpenGov, Axios and Nexus Circular. 

Clement oversees Cox’s growth operations, strategy and investments, corporate development organizations and Socium Ventures, the company’s venture capital fund. From 2015 to 2026, he served as chief financial officer of Cox Enterprises, responsible for the company’s financial function, including treasury, tax, audit, financial reporting, planning and analysis. In 2022, he added the role of president and served in both positions through 2026, with responsibility for the company’s finance, technology, corporate services and sustainability organizations. 

Previously, Clement served as chief financial officer for Cox Automotive, the world’s largest automotive services and technology provider. He led all finance, legal, real estate, technology, strategy and corporate development functions across Cox Automotive’s financial services, wholesale auctions, digital media, software-as-a-service and international businesses, including NextGear Capital. 

Clement also spent 20 years at Cox Communications, where he held a variety of roles, including executive vice president and chief strategy and product management officer. 

He serves on the boards of Charter Communications, Inc., Truist Financial Corporation, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Junior Achievement of Georgia, Georgia Research Alliance, the Metro Atlanta Chamber and the Atlanta History Center. 

Clement received a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics and economics from Harvard College and a master’s degree in engineering economic systems from Stanford University.
