Cox Enterprises Employees Help Build Homes and Hope for 24 Atlanta Families

2 minutes

ATLANTA — In May 2026, Cox Enterprises partnered with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity to support the 40th Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Habitat Build, joining a decades‑long tradition of service that strengthens communities and expands access to affordable housing.

Throughout the week, dozens of Cox employees volunteered alongside community partners to help build homes for 24 Atlanta families as part of the Carter Work Project.

The effort underscores Cox’s long‑standing commitment to creating stable, thriving communities in the places where its employees live and work. Safe, affordable housing plays a critical role in long‑term economic security, educational opportunity and overall well‑being.

“Helping families achieve homeownership is one of the most powerful ways to support long‑term stability,” said Charles Odom, executive vice president of Finance at Cox Enterprises. “This build allowed our employees to use their time and skills to make a meaningful, lasting impact.”

For many volunteers, the experience was as meaningful as the homes themselves. Employees worked side by side, strengthening connections with each other and the community while stepping away from their day‑to‑day roles.

Launched in 1984, the Carter Work Project brings together volunteers from across the country—and around the world—to construct homes in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, honoring the legacy of President Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalynn Carter.
