Forbes named Cox Enterprises among its 2021 Best Employers for Veterans. This award reinforces our culture as an employer who cares about the veteran community.

America’s Best Employers for Veterans were chosen based on an independent survey from a sample of 5,000 U.S. veterans working for large companies like Cox. Veterans were asked to rate employers on a variety of general and veteran-specific topics. Out of thousands of eligible companies, Cox was among 200 recognized. (You can read the full story here.)

Hiring Our Heroes

Since 1898, Cox has stayed true to simple, but enduring values of honesty, integrity, leadership and community. We’ve done that by treating our employees as our most important resource, giving back to our communities and seizing new, innovative business opportunities. These qualities have made us one of the best workplaces for current and past military members.

According to the Department of Labor, approximately 200,000 U.S. military service members enter civilian life each year. Cox partners with eight organizations that help veterans make the transition.

Hiring veterans makes business sense for Cox because of the alignment with our culture.  Veterans are disciplined team players who thrive working with others and are naturals when it comes to leading by example. Veterans are proven in real-world situations, and they typically learn new skills and concepts quickly.

Veterans also help contribute to our culture of championing inclusion. Often, they have learned to work side by side with individuals from a range of backgrounds, including race, gender, geographic origin, ethnic background, religion and economic status.
