Cox to Offer 2-Gig Symmetrical Speeds

Cox Communications recently announced the company will begin offering 2-Gigabit symmetrical speeds in neighborhoods across its footprint. This follows the company announcement that it is making a multibillion-dollar annual infrastructure investment over the next several years to build a 10-Gigabit capable, fiber-based network that will power the next generation of internet users.

Cox was the first to bring its customers widespread and ultra-fast high speed broadband Internet.  Expanding on fiber to the premise combined with breakthrough enhancements to cable’s broadband DOCSIS 4.0 technology will enable Cox to deliver more multi-Gigabit symmetrical speeds in the coming years to both residential and business customers to support a growing host of high bandwidth applications. 

While more than 99 percent of Cox’s residential customers have access to Gigabit download speeds today, this is Cox’s first multi-Gig symmetrical offer.
