ATLANTA (May 20, 2024) Cox Enterprises recently announced that Erin McCandless has been named senior vice president and general counsel for Cox Automotive, effective June 10.

In this role, Erin will provide legal support for Cox Automotive product regulation, international matters and all businesses — including inventory solutions, retail solutions, mobility solutions and NextGear Capital. She will also advise the Cox Automotive senior leadership team, focusing on critical issues management and priority legal and business strategies.

Erin's journey with Cox began in 2015 when Cox Automotive acquired Dealertrack Technologies, a company she had been with since 2007. Throughout her tenure, she consistently demonstrated expertise in balancing business risks against objectives. Most recently, Erin served as vice president of commercial operations for Law & Policy, advising senior leaders on legal strategy for CEI's operating business, corporate functions and strategic sourcing. Before that, she was vice president and deputy general counsel at Cox Automotive.

"Erin is a consummate business partner who expertly balances business risks against objectives," said Jennifer Hightower, executive vice president and chief legal officer. "I am confident in her ability to advance this constantly evolving part of our business."

McCandless earned her bachelor's and law degrees from Creighton University and holds a master's in business from the University of Nebraska. She serves as advisory board chair of the Atlanta chapter of The Posse Foundation and also serves on their national board. She is a graduate of Inspire Atlanta, a community impact program supporting the Atlanta Women's Foundation.
