Cox Among the Best of the Best on Inclusion

11/30/2021

Cox Enterprises was recently selected as one of the Top 50 Corporations for Inclusion by the National Business Inclusion Consortium (NBIC). This honor is a testament to the work so many at Cox have done to make inclusion, diversity and equity an essential part of our culture and business strategy.

Chelsea Slaughter, Cox Communications manager of supplier programs, accepted the award on behalf of Cox on Thursday, Nov. 18. Cox is a corporate partner of the National LGBT Chamber of Commerice (NGLCC) for our supplier diversity program. The chamber launched the NBIC in 2011.

“At Cox Enterprises, we empower our great people to build a better future together by championing inclusion with a workforce that reflects our diverse communities," said Erin Mitchell Richeson, Cox Enterprises vice president of inclusion and diversity. “We are honored to be recognized by the National Business Inclusion Consortium for enabling inclusion, diversity and equity in our organization and communities.”

The designation honors corporations for their commitment to America’s diverse employees and business owners, which includes LGBT, people of color, women, and people with disabilities. This designation is highly competitive and is bestowed only to corporations that we see constantly striving to strengthen and celebrate diversity. The corporations being honored are true leaders in ongoing global commitments to create a better future for all diverse communities in business, according to NBIC.

Launched by the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) in 2011, the NBIC advocates for the business interests of a diverse range of people, including the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, ethnic and racial minority, disability, veteran, and women-owned business communities, representing a total of over $9 trillion in annual consumer spending power and significant contributions to the marketplace and workplace.

Members of the NBIC include NGLCC, Disability: IN, the National Minority Supplier Development Council, National Veteran-Owned Business Association, United States Black Chambers Inc., United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, United States Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce, WEConnect International, Women Impacting Public Policy and the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.

At Cox, we celebrate our diversity in many ways, including our supplier diversity programs and diversity partnerships. Visit our Inclusion, Diversity & Equity page to learn more.
