Kelley Blue Book Editors Select Variety of Top Affordable Used Cars; 2007 Honda Civic Takes No. 1 Spot
IRVINE, Calif., April 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Shoppers in the market for an affordable used car can see the models recommended most in the 10 Best Used Cars Under $8,000 by the expert editors at Kelley Blue Book www.kbb.com, the only vehicle valuation and information source trusted and relied upon by both consumers and the automotive industry. Taking the top spot on this annual list for 2014 is the 2007 Honda Civic.
For this collection of recommendations, KBB.com editors compiled a list of all 2004-and-newer used cars with a Kelley Blue Book® Retail Value of less than $8,000 as of February 2014. Then they handpicked 10 standouts based on a variety of factors including reputation and desirability, with one luxury model that surprisingly starts just under $5,000.
"Car shoppers in the market for a used vehicle in 2014 are in luck, because as the quality of new cars continues to improve, so does the pool of used cars," said Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com. "The Honda Civic tops this annual list again with a bulletproof reputation for reliability and long-lasting quality. The fuel-efficient Civic is comfortable on the highway, responsive around town, and maintains its solid, refined feel for many years."
