Cox Enterprises Announces Promotions in Corporate Security Department


Eric Winter and Rob Gray promoted to new roles

Cox Enterprises today announced that Eric Winter and Rob Gray are being promoted to senior director of investigations and technical risk and senior director of security operations and executive protection, respectively. They report to Duane Ritter, senior vice president of corporate services and enterprise security.

Winter is responsible for strategizing, developing and implementing all phases of the company’s investigation operations. His team reduces risks and responds to incidents to ensure physical and financial security for the organization.

Prior to Cox, he worked for Delta, the U.S. Secret Service and the U.S. Navy. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the U.S. Naval Academy and a master’s degree in management of global information technology from American University. Winter is a board member for Atlanta Metropol and Lassiter Junior Football.

Gray manages the global security assets for Cox Enterprises’ executive leadership and stakeholders. He oversees security, executive protection and response protocols, as well as threat mitigation and assessment. He also serves as an adjunct professor for Bellevue University’s security management and public administration courses.

Prior to Cox, he held international security roles with Novelis, First Data and Western Union. He also worked for the U.S. Secret Service. Gray received a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree in futures analysis from North Central College.
