Cox Enterprises Elects Byron D. Trott to Board of Directors

ATLANTA, April 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- At its meeting in Atlanta, Cox Enterprises elected Byron D. Trott to its board of directors.

"He has served as a trusted advisor on high-profile transactions such as our successful acquisition of the remaining interest in Autotrader. As a member of our board of directors, Byron will play an important role as Cox grows through investments in new industries and adjacent opportunities for our core businesses."

Trott is the founder, chairman and chief executive officer of BDT & Company, a Chicago-based merchant bank that provides advisory services and access to long-term capital to address the long-term strategic and financing needs of family and founder-controlled companies. Prior to founding BDT & Company, Trott held a number of roles with Goldman, Sachs & Co. over 27 years. He served as vice chairman of the company's Global Investment Banking Division and was a member of its Partnership Committee and Merchant Bank's Investment Committee.

Trott serves on the board of directors for D.E Master Blenders 1753; Enterprise Holdings, Inc.; KIND Healthy Snacks and Tory Burch LLC. He serves as a trustee of the University of Chicago and the Art Institute of Chicago, as well as a director of Conservation International. In 2011, he was inducted into the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans.

He received a bachelor's degree and a master's of business administration degree from the University of Chicago.
