01/14/2016
Cox Enterprises today announced that Kimberly Smith has been promoted to director of accounting policy and technical accounting, effective immediately. She reports to Shelley Saucelo, senior director of financial reporting.
“Kim establishes consistent accounting practices across Cox Enterprises and its divisions to ensure efficiency and replicate best practices,” said Saucelo. “She is our in-house expert on accounting policies and technical accounting topics, and she frequently provides counsel to leadership on significant transactions and contracts.”
Smith works with finance leaders at Cox’s divisions to inventory existing accounting policies, compare best practices and determine a consistent strategy for the company. She develops and maintains a documented system of accounting policies for enterprise-wide usage, as well as leads the implementation and application of new accounting rules.
