Cox Investments Scoring Early Wins

Several Cox Enterprises investments are logging big wins.
The Overwatch League’s Atlanta Reign recently announced a sponsorship deal with Cox Communications. The Overwatch League is a multiplayer video game played competitively for spectators, and the Atlanta Reign is one of eight expansion teams added to the league this year. The Atlanta team is a joint investment between Cox Enterprises and the financial advisory firm Province Inc.
Cox Communications branding will appear on the Reign’s jerseys. Cox is also sponsoring the amazing home where the players live and train during the season. (For a sneak peek inside, watch the video below). Autotrader, a Cox Automotive business, also sponsors the Atlanta Reign.
Ouster and Iora Health Raise Their Profiles
Ouster, a San Francisco startup which manufactures sensors for self-driving vehicles, recently announced it had raised $60 million and plans to open a new facility with much greater capacity to produce its products. In 2017, Cox Enterprises and Cox Automotive led a $27 million fundraiser for Ouster in a bid to get in on the ground floor of autonomous vehicle technology development.

Techstars Companies Going Gangbusters
Three Techstars Atlanta companies recently raised a combined $6.3 million from investors to help take their businesses to the next level. Cox Enterprises is the presenting sponsor of Techstars Atlanta.
CaseStatus announced it has secured $725,000 in funding from a seed round led by the Alabama Futures Fund and will move its headquarters to Birmingham, Alabama.
CommissionTrac, an Atlanta startup that streamlines the operations of real estate brokerages, closed a $1.14 million seed funding round, which included Cox Enterprises as an investor.
Farmcrowdy secured additional seed funding of $1 million from a local investor, Ajayi Solutions. The crowdfunding platform for Nigerian farmers is looking into the possibility of using drones for 3D mapping and field analysis to improve farmers’ yields.
PadSplit, the Atlanta-based affordable housing startup, raised a seed round of $4.6 million from several investors, including Cox Enterprises, to aid in hiring and marketing costs. PadSplit’s mission is to solve the affordable housing crisis one room at a time.
