Cox Launches Flare Kids, A Free Search And Discovery App That Connects Consumers With Popular Children's Content
New app features custom controls so parents can manage how children view their favorite content
ATLANTA, Aug. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --This month, Cox Communications launched Flare Kids, a free app that allows families to search for and discover the most popular child-friendly video content available online. Designed for children between the ages of 3-8 years, Flare Kids includes superior parental controls to manage the content and the time children view their favorite entertainment. The Flare Kids app is available in the App Store and works with any broadband connection and an iPad, with more devices to be added in the future.
"Flare Kids introduces children to a safe and fun digital playground and allows parents to apply custom settings that align with household and child-specific learning and entertainment goals," said Alan Greene, senior vice president and general manager, Flare Entertainment. "This new app provides convenient and easy discovery of some of the most popular children's shows available on the web and we plan to add more entertainment and educational content in the future."
Flare Kids was designed with parents and children in mind. Kids gain the freedom they desire to explore and switch between various shows, while parents experience peace of mind knowing the platform their child is viewing is age-appropriate. Once parents download the Flare Kids app, they are prompted to create profiles for each child and are then able to customize the web content that each profile can access. Additionally, parents can set up time increments that a child is able to watch daily, as well as monitor the shows they have viewed.
The launch of the Flare Kids app is the latest product from Flare Entertainment LLC, a Cox subsidiary that focuses on enabling targeted consumer segments find and consume digital entertainment content that they uniquely want. Flare Entertainment, which will now operate independently, will work to simplify the overall digital media experience via streamlined search, discovery and playback across various media platforms, including web video, games, music, ebooks, and personal media.
