Cox Team is No. 1 Movember Fundraiser
12/05/2018
When Cox commits to giving back, it gives big. And Cox’s Lipholstery Squad proved that point by raising more money than any other fundraising team or business club in the nation for the Movember Foundation this year, raising more than $200,000 to support men’s health.
The Movember Foundation is the leading global organization committed to changing the face of men’s health. The annual Movember campaign raises awareness and money by challenging men to grow a Mo (slang for moustache) during the month of November.
Because It’s Personal
One in seven men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. And raising money for awareness and research about men’s health is a cause that hits especially close to home for the Cox family.
Chairman Jim Kennedy, the grandson of our company founder Gov. James M. Cox, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2014. His son and Cox Enterprises board member Jamie Kennedy organized a companywide fundraising campaign for Movember that year that raised nearly $1.8 million.
Fortunately, Jim has undergone treatment and is now cancer-free.
Started by Cox Communications employees eight years ago, the Lipholstery Squad has long been a leading fundraiser for the Movember Foundation. In 2017, the Lipholstery Squad raised nearly $18,000 and ranked as the 55th highest fundraising team in the nation.
Congrats to the Lipholstery Squad and thank you to everyone who contributed to Movember!
