Proud to Sponsor Pride

Gay-Pride-Week-400x400.jpgAt Cox, diversity is both a business strength and a corporate value. And one way we bring this value to life is by sponsoring many of the city of Atlanta’s LGBTQ initiatives. As a way of acknowledging our efforts, Cox was recently recognized by the city as a top sponsor of Atlanta’s Inaugural Pride Reception to kick off Atlanta’s Pride week.

The event, hosted by Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, kicked off a week of events taking place across the city. Speakers included Representative John Lewis, Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields and Human Rights Campaign (HRC) president Chad Griffin.

“This was the first Pride Reception hosted by the city and a great way to kick off Atlanta Pride week,” said Andrea Lawson, vice president, Talent Management and Diversity. “Being acknowledged by the city and hearing the steps they’re taking to support our mutual values is a win-win for all of us.”

Cox’s belief in building a diverse and inclusive workforce is why we have numerous initiatives and partnerships designed to strengthen and support the LGBTQ communities — both at work and where we live.
