Showing Our Pride

Cox leaders and employees turned out in force for the Atlanta Pride Festival.

Cox’s leaders and employees showed their pride and support for diversity Oct. 15, turning out in force for the 47th annual Pride Parade and festival in Atlanta.

Floats, bands and thousands of marchers representing Atlanta companies made up the nearly three-hour-long parade. More than 270 people — a record number of participants including employees from all Cox divisions, as well as their friends and families — made the trek down the parade route on the city’s iconic Peachtree Street.

Aside from the Cox float, there were also vehicles for Autotrader and B98.5 in the parade. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and B98.5 hosted booths at the festival in Piedmont Park throughout the weekend.

Leaders from across Cox also attended to show their support, including Cox Communications President Pat Esser and Cox Automotive EVP & Chief People Officer Janet Barnard.

The Atlanta Pride Festival is hosted each year by the Atlanta Pride Committee, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance unity, visibility and wellness among persons with widely diverse gender and sexual identities through cultural, social, political and educational programs and activities.
