What Glass Ceiling?

Thanks to encouragement from top executives, involvement in the community and internal programs aimed at promoting women in technology, women are succeeding at Cox Automotive.
But don’t just take our word for it. The company has just landed a spot on the Women Tech Council’s 2018 Shatter List, which highlights 44 companies with inclusive cultures where women can contribute and succeed.
The list is the first of the kind to rely on research of the technology industry, including data on successful implementation of policies that encourage more inclusivity from top to bottom. Companies were scored on four factors:
- Executive engagement (active support from the CEO, executive team and all leadership)
- Company programming (currently has women in leadership executive positions and proactively implements programs to support women in in technology)
- Community investment (active participation with the broader community to learn from and share best practices regarding culture and inclusion)
- Women’s or D&I group (formal programs to support women internally).
Cox Automotive boasts several women among its top executives, including Janet Barnard, chief people officer, and Grace Huang, the president of Inventory Solutions. The company also launched Women With Drive as a networking group that promotes workplace diversity. The group started as an internal initiative, but has since expanded to include participants from the entire automotive industry.
