MLK 50 Forward

02/12/2018

Happy Black History Month!

To celebrate, Cox Enterprises and Clark Howard have joined with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity to show a little extra love in the community.

Cox will dedicate the company’s two 2018 house builds to the Martin Luther King Jr. Center’s Beloved Community initiative.

The Beloved Community initiative marks the 50th anniversaries of Dr. King’s tragic death, the founding of The Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change (The King Center) and the passage of the Fair Housing Act. The initiative calls for people to take the MLK 50 Forward Challenge — a pledge to carry out 50 acts of kindness or service in recognition of the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s assassination.

Individuals and organizations around the globe will honor Dr. King on April 4, 2018. You can take the MLK 50 Forward challenge by clicking here, or join the conversation by following #BelovedCommunity on social media.

Team Cox is building its 27th and 28th Habitat homes this year alongside Clark Howard, whose Team Clark is building three houses.

You do not have to be a Cox employee to volunteer. Visit www.clark.com/habitat to learn more.

Dedication day is March 17.

“I believe that every single one of us — regardless of who we are or where we come from — deserves a decent life.” – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
