Law & Policy team named Legal Department of the Year for pro bono work
04/16/2024
During a recent reception, the Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta honored the Cox Enterprises Law & Policy team as Legal Department of the Year for helping 28 nonprofit organizations in 2023, surpassing its goal of 10.
The Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta (PBPA) connects volunteer lawyers with nonprofits serving low-income and underserved communities in Atlanta. Last year, PBPA provided legal services valued at over $4.5 million.
"It was an absolute joy to see the Cox Law & Policy team recognized for its efforts with Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta," said Jennifer Hightower, executive vice president and chief legal officer of Cox Enterprises and member of the PBPA board of directors. “We're always looking for the opportunity to lend our legal expertise to support our communities.”
As a PBPA partner, Cox offers free legal services and an annual monetary donation.
The Cox-PBPA partnership has empowered more than 9,000 people to live more prosperous lives, moving us closer to our 34 by 34 goal. PBPA and its volunteers serve a number of Cox’s nonprofit partners, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta, Park Pride, Trees Atlanta and the Urban League of Greater Atlanta.
