Driven by a purpose

When it comes to building a better future, we start from the inside out. We are thousands with one goal: Leave the world better than we found it for the next generation. Our employees bring our company purpose to life every day through their conservation efforts, contributions and community volunteerism.
Our social impact initiative aims to remove obstacles and expand access to programs to help 34 million people live more prosperous lives by 2034, and our employee actions are essential to achieving our goal.

Our volunteerism
The hard work of our employees demonstrates that caring for the environment and our community is at the heart of who we are. We live this value by donating time as well as money. We believe in rolling up our sleeves and getting to work in the communities we serve and call home. Every year, volunteers rack up tens of thousands of volunteer hours.
Our volunteerism is focused on solving challenges for underserved communities in three strategic areas:
- Education and Workforce Development
- Environment
- Food Security
We also support our communities and partners through financial donations and by generating awareness through in-kind media support.
A positive impact
Cox is committed to giving back and building a better future by leveraging technology and innovation to address critical community challenges. Through our focus areas, we strive to make a positive impact — creating solutions that benefit both people and the planet.

Chairman’s Challenge
Chairman and CEO Alex Taylor continues our long tradition of empowering people today to build a better future for the next generation through efforts to improve the environment. In 2007, Chairman Emeritus Jim Kennedy launched Cox Conserves, our national sustainability program now dedicated to energy and water conservation, waste diversion and circularity, and the protection and restoration of habitats and species. These efforts reflect our commitment to being good stewards of the planet by inspiring positive environmental change. Jim also launched the first Chairman’s Challenge to our employees in 2012. Find out who won the 2025 Chairman’s Challenge.

“The support employees provided to help deliver food to families in the community has been outstanding. It’s an incredible example of the power of a Cox partnership.”
