Erin-Mitchell-Richeson-Cox-thumbnail-(1).pngWith the 40 Under 40 Awards, the Atlanta Business Chronicle spotlights the next generation of business leaders. The recipients are 40 people under the age of 40 who are making significant career achievements and demonstrating social responsibility.

This year's class includes Erin Mitchell Richeson, vice president of inclusion, diversity and equity at Cox Enterprises.

Erin Mitchell Richeson leads the effort to develop a diversity strategy for a team of nearly 50,000.

"Despite job growth, the income inequality gap widened," she said. "I hope my community and professional work helps people gain career skills and insights and professional organizations operate with a lens of equity and access."

Prior to joining Cox, she served as vice president of global inclusion and diversity for Kimberly-Clark Corp., the company behind brands such as Huggies and Kleenex.

As a mother of small children, Richeson’s community involvement often focuses on the metro area’s youngest residents. The 39-year-old has helped spearhead efforts to purchase winter coats and other products for youth in Atlanta’s Thomasville Heights community.

She also lends her expertise to service members of the U.S. military. Richeson helps her husband’s Naval unit build their resumes and career development skills as they transition to civilian life.

Richeson, along with the other honorees, were celebrated at a ceremoney on Nov. 3, 2022.
