Today, the automotive industry is facing the “perfect storm,” forcing dealerships to rethink how they go to market. Consumer behaviors are evolving, profit margins are shrinking, and employee expectations are driving a high turnover rate to the tune of about $5 billion a year. The pace of all this change is unprecedented, and Cox Automotive clients are feeling the pinch.
Focused on accelerating their clients’ readiness for the future, Cox Automotive University (CAU) was created to help dealers improve how they operate, lead and manage their businesses in this rapidly evolving industry. CAU leverages Cox Automotive’s deep understanding of dealer and OEM businesses and our unmatched access to industry and consumer data to develop dynamic curricula and experiences.
Celebrating Recent Graduates
As part of CAU, the “SHIFT: Reinventing Leadership” program is an eight-month course created for senior executives and industry influencers. Through experiential learning sessions and one-on-one business coaching, participants learn from each other and focus on methods to help reinvent the way they lead their organizations through change.
With the program’s latest graduation of 14 executives from 10 of Cox Automotive’s largest dealer clients, the company is activating a powerful, growing leadership network that offers each SHIFT participant access to more than 50 like-minded industry influencers. Representing hundreds of dealerships across three countries, these individuals are building trust within the industry to help shape the leaders of tomorrow.
Due to the success of Reinventing Leadership, Cox Automotive will soon add several new programs to the SHIFT Portfolio in 2018 to target other levels of leaders and different client segments.
Through these types of client-focused experiences, Cox Automotive is partnering with their clients in ways that reach beyond the products they sell — by empowering them to start thinking differently about tomorrow and help guide the evolution of the automotive industry.
