Rooted in Sustainability

Long before going green was popular, we’ve been focused on protecting the planet. Commitment to sustainability is part of Cox’s DNA: from cleaning up waterways to reimagining electric vehicles to the ongoing work of our sustainability program, Cox Conserves. To date, we’ve invested more than $2 billion in sustainable businesses and technologies.

In 2018, we made our initial investment in controlled environment agriculture – the first step in the Cox Farms journey. A lot has changed in the world and our businesses since Cox Enterprises’ founding in 1898; but our commitment to responsible agriculture practices and creating a healthier world has remained constant.

Tending to Tomorrow

The climate is ripe for future-proofing the world of produce.

World food production must double by 2050 to support increases in population growth. Challenges like water shortages, changing diets, demand for locally grown food and alternative protein sources are forcing producers to find new ways to grow and deliver food. But addressing these challenges could lead to a significantly positive impact for the environment – and it’s a task that we at Cox Farms are eager and equipped to take on.
